Volleyball

This year our senior Volleyball team are doing very well, we have won all our games besides 2. We are 1 person down since Juan Carlos broke his leg and has 2 fractures. We still have a chance to come 1, 2 or 3, so wish us well.

THE SENIOR NETBALL TEAM 07

The senior netball team did all right this year. Out of all the teams we played we bet all of them except one. This year our netball team was made up of Storm ( C ), Anesia ( GK ), Ashleigh ( GS ), Ellenor ( WA ), Hannah ( GA ), Sarah ( GK ) and Me, Rachael ( GA, and Captain ). Issabella was also in our team but she only played once because she broke her thumb and also had a sore foot.

This year our teams couch was Lennie. She's a really fun and kind coach.

While we played, there were a few little accidents. Storm twisted her ankle and on the same day heaps of people slipped over and landed on the ground.

One time the team we were meant to play didn't turn up so we played the parents. They won but they had a good advantage regarding their height.

Over all this years team did really well.

Senior Netball

This year Faith Academy Netball team did great. In the team we had:
Anesia
Storm
Rachael (Captain)
Ashleigh
Ellenor
Sarah
Hannah
And our coach Lennie
Issabella also was in our team but she only played one game due to injuries. Our sub was Amy played since we did not have enough players. We only lost 3 games 2 to the same St Georges team (though the 3rd time we won) and one to the Home Schooler's. The reason why we lost to the Home Schooler's was because we had to have injury time but they started injury time when half our players were off the courts!?!

The rest of the netball teams we left in our dust! We usually won. We finished netball early because we did not have any semi finals. I think we came 2nd over all in our grade. I had a lot of fun playing netball and hopefully Faith Academy will do as well as us next year!

Soccer

On Saturdays we go to soccer and play other teams so far from when I wrote this story we are unbeaten, we are the 11th grade Soccer team from Faith Academy.
Our Coach is Mr. Corrigan and our team consists of Caleb, Joel, Josh, Bobby, Joseph, Guy, Beamish, Ben, Daily, Matthew, Isaac and Edward. Daily is no longer playing soccer as he plays rugby now. There are three Faith Academy teams there is a seventh grade a ninth grade and our grade the 11th grade soccer team.

We play at Wimbly Park we have drawed three games and won all the rest. Some of the teams are really good and fun to play, some of the other games are a bit boring because we keep scoring. Our practices are mostly on Friday, we practice dribbling and passing. Some times we have knock out tournaments.

Marist-Rugby

Rugby is one of the tougher sports, and requires 22 people for a team and it is a lot of fun. Our school is unable to have a rugby team because we don't have enough boys in the form one and twos. So my friends and I decided to join a local Marist club to play rugby. We practice at Springvale Park, which is a km from school.

Our team is made up of boys from 5 different Schools in Wanganui. There is Faith Academy, St Marys, St Marcellin, St Anns and Wanganui Intermediate School. I enjoy playing rugby with my friends and I have made new friends from playing rugby to. I think it is well worth the ten dollars we paid.

Rugby

Some intermediate students of our school are also participating in rugby union with Marist Wanganui. Our students are a good testimony to our school and sometimes get time to talk to the other kids about God.

We have some very talented players and usually 5 of our 8 start most games. We have players in almost every position including Sam as our big prop, Caleb as our center or second five eights, Daniel and Braedon as our lightning fast wingers and Blake as our reliable fullback.

Netball

At Faith Academy, most of the girls are fans of Netball. We have two netball teams, an A team and a B Team. The A team has all the Form 1 and 2's and the B team has the Standard 3 and 4's.

In the A team we all have positions. Most of us all have a position that we excel at but we also play one other position.

Sarah C- Goal Shoot & Goal Attack, Sarah B- Goal Defense & Center, Sarah H- Wing Attack & Wing Defense, Melanie- Goal Defense, Jessica- Wing Attack & Wing Defense, Andrea- Center & Goal Keep, Esther M- Goal Attack & Goal Defense, and me, Marianne playing either Goal Shoot or Goal Attack.

We are great team. So far we have won all of our games, apart from one that we lost a couple of weeks ago. We haven't had many injuries, Just the slight trip and graze of the knee.

In one of the games, one of the girls from the other team's skirt fell off. Luckily she had a pair of shorts on underneath. We've only had one game cancelled due to bad weather. We also won a game by default that means that the other team couldn't play.

Our coach is my big sister, Suzie Schicker. She's a great coach and she's not mean. (Well maybe sometimes!) We have practices each Monday at Lunch. Before we start we have to run around the court a couple of times and then we stretch. After practicing our positions for a while we get into a game.

Over all I think we are a really awesome team, and if we keep up our great team work we should be able to beat any team that faces us.

SOCCER

So far this season faith academy's 11th grade soccer team is one of 3 unbeaten soccer teams and the only unbeaten school team our season started off pretty shaky as we didn't have nearly enough players but we were still able to pull a team together in time for our first game against saint Mary's shooters since then we have made great progress, not losing a single match.

Our players are Joseph, Josh, Joel, Matthew, Beamish, Eddie, Caleb, Isaac (Izzybizzypopbamboo) Ethan, Chris and Ben.

Our usual game plan is the defenders pass the ball up to Ben or Joel who feed it to the attackers. Because passing the ball up the wing is quicker than the other team can run up and defend.

Our coach is my Dad, Mr. Corrigan and at practices we usually work on passing and accuracy with our shooting.

Our team has improved this year and I hope we can improve even more next year.

Soccer

Well I am in a soccer team and I play for Faith Academy we have won all our games except for two games and have drawled that we have lost two times from the same team. In our team we have Beamish who is me and Daily who used to be in our team before he quit and played for Marist rugby team in the soccer team now we have Edward, Guy, Josh, Joel, Ben, Ethan, Joseph, Isaac who is from another school and Asher and that's our team.

At every game we hand out a certificate for the player of the day and I got one for great hassling the oppositions defence. On this certificate you get of discount of a hackey sack and a free cheeseburger voucher [yum] and a free t shirt from rebel sports. Here are some of the scores we got in soccer.

Faith Academy our team got 2 against st Johns who got 4 so we lost then we had a rematch and lost 4 to 5 [we lost] and we might of came 2nd our 1st That's what I have for you about our team.
