Making Pinatas

The Party Pinatas are making pinatas so they could sell them for their company. They had lollies on the table with them, blowing up the ballons and also putting paper mache over them.

PrEP in Room 1

For PrEP Room one made some duster gloves. They had pompoms on the bottom so that you can dust with them. Room 1 had to get their buddies to help them make the pompoms and sew them onto the gloves. This is us helping our buddies in room 1. We had about two afternoons doing it. By Sarah R Y7
PrEP Market Day!

"Can I please change some money?"
"Sure here you are."

This is all we heard it about 1000 times, well maybe I am exaggerating a little bit, but we heard it a lot! Our money currency is Talents and for every $10 that came in we would only give them T19. We would take off T1 for the commission fee.

You got it on the 1 September it was Market Day! Through out 7 weeks we have worked really hard to prepare PrEP. I was in the Bank so we had to manufacture all the money for the customers to come and get money to buy things.

The class nominated a few students to be the Mayor/ess for PrEP and I was one of them to be chosen. On Monday at the end of the day we had assembly and at the end of the day Mr. Allott announced who the new Mayor/ess. The words came out of his mouth were, "The new Mayor is Jessica, or should I say the new Mayoress." I couldn't believe that I got, it my whole body went in to shock. Everyone turned to look at me and then I started to blush. It was really embarrassing! When I was walking back to class everyone was saying 'How does it feel to be the Mayoress?'

Market day was here and I had to do a speech to officially open Market Day 2006. I then cut a ribbon to declare it officially open. Everyone clapped and cheered for me. I kept on having people coming up to me saying congratulations. I then had to go back to the bank and when I got there it was absolutely hectic with people asking to change money.

Sarah and I were first on break so we went out and I then lost Sarah and so I then went and looked around. I bought a cushion and I went and got two Marvelous Moulds and also some food and drink. For my food I got an ice cream sundae and a pizza and for my drink I got a Super Smoothie. I then went back from my break and then I found Sarah. I then said that the next two people could go and have their break. We always had three people at the Bank at all times.

While I was on my last break for the day I couldn't find anything that I wanted to buy. I then went to the Store House and I found a big bag of lollies for T12.

So at the end of the day I was really happy because my day had been perfect apart from the fact that I was really tired. Mum couldn't stop saying how proud of me she was. So when tne day was over Mum took me to get an ice cream.

IT WAS AN AWESOME DAY IN THE END!!!!!

PrEP 2005

PrEP

PrEP- Homework? - No way! PrEP stands for Primary Enterprise Programme. When we have PrEP the whole school becomes a new place; a market based society. Students learn how to set up their own CV's and apply to the Governance (the teachers) as to which areas they would like to work in. Areas include Catering, Manufacturing, Governance, and Advertising. Students receive letters informing them if their applications have been successful or not.

Once in an area students have an opportunity to promote their business ideas and formulate proposals. Successful ideas are approved by the governance and then students can apply for jobs in the various businesses and start production and lots of learning about co-operation and relationships. It's a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about honesty, integrity, and fairness in business practise. We are able to look at what the Bible teaches regarding work and how we should treat those who work for us.

Hard work in production, culminates in a Market Day. Stalls are opened and families are invited to come and purchase what the students have made. This year we had our Mayor open Market Day by cutting the ribbon! It was a fabulous day, great weather and a huge turn out even the mayor Chas Poynter came. Students were able to sell their wares and spend the "Jirah" (our currency) they have earned. There was a great variety on sale.

After the book-keeping was finalised students were able to pay their loans back to the bank, pay their tithes and taxes and determine if they had made a profit! Students were able to spend their profit on Profit Day. Hotdogs, donuts, pens games, lots of goodies were on sale and those whose business did not make a profit were assisted through the charity fund.

Read on to hear more about PrEP from the students themselves.

PrEP Story

Hurrah, hurrah it's PrEP today and we've finished our bookmarks. Phew! We've finished in time! Market day is this week on Friday yeeeha!

PrEP began by brain storming and planning. Then we moved on to deciding, writing C.V's and cover letters. I had to go away from catering because there were too many people in catering.

Anyway I found a better job in Manufacturing. First we started by writing a business proposal, and shared our ideas to the class. My business proposal was about bookmarks. We named it BOOKMARKS GALORE. I'm not worrying about the name any more I’m just worrying about getting things done!

Here's a slogan on PrEP. "Wake up, wake up it's PrEP today. Hooray hooray it's PrEP today, get out of bed and do your jobs, hooray hooray that it's PrEP today!"

Well I reckon market day is going to be really fun, and if we sell all our bookmarks we'll have $20 each to spend! I can't stop bursting my bubbles!

Poem

PrEP was fun
I ordered a bun
But I didn't get one
We made vases
Out of glasses
And PrEP was cool
It was really full
We sold out
There's no doubt
There's still profit day
I sure will pay!

PrEP

PrEP all so fun not so dumb
Mayors and fairs
People running up and down
But also with a frown
A radio to
Drinks and winks
Sinks and skinks
The food was rood
But now its time to go.

Prep poem

Prep is fun
But it's done

Every ones gone home
Now were all alone

Were left doing work
And now we feel satisfied
