Art Intensive

Art Intensive works like this- over a period of 4 weeks we have 1hr:30 minutes of art once a week; that's the whole school joining in. Students have opportunity to choose from various activities and spend 2 weeks on each activity, except for the Drama group, they needed more time. The variety of activities changes every time, so if you didn't get your first choice this time you can try again later.

This year we had chooses covering all the arts strands. So students could choose from: Drama,Dance, pottery, Mixed Media, felt making, Mosaics, Creative cooking, Music,Computer Art, Embroidery, Candle making and Flax weaving. Quite a choice! Some experts came to help us and we had fantastic results! Art intensive 2008 will be in the 2nd Term.

Wednesday 24 May was the first day of art intensive 2006. This year students had 14 choices of what to do:
Drama, dance, clay, mosaic, wearable art, music, computer art, flax weaving, dyeing, screen printing, jewelery, cards, silk painting and felt making. It was a very busy time with great results.
The drama, music and dance groups performed at the parent forum in week 8 while other things were on display for parents tp look at. The pottery was completed later as the pots had to be fired then glazed and fired again. We were very happy with the results.
The Music group was very popular in 2004. The students wrote their own song "God is Great" and composed the music for it.

It has become a regular in our Chapel services.
